Samsung Aims to Bring the Era of Flip Phones Back

Until a few days ago, it was just a rumour that Samsung, which is working on infinity display, could revert back to flip phones. It was confirmed this week when the Korean Giant Samsung announced the phone officially in China.

The time when mobile companies are trying to remove the concept of buttons from the screen to provide maximum display, Samsung seems to use the retro tool to make a distinct place in the market.

The company named the phone Leader 8, maybe in order to match it with the present galaxy franchise.

The Flip Phone which is announced only in colour is of Aviation grade Aluminium alloy. It weighs just 235 grams and I’d only 15.9mm in width. It supports a super AMOLED display on a 4.2 inch full HD screen.

It is supposed to be super fast with 4GB RAM and Snapdragon 821 processor. It has an internal memory of 64GB which is further expandable. It’s rear sports a 12MP camera and the front camera is 5MP.

The Leader 8 has a battery of 2300mAH and is supplemented by wireless charging. It’s rear also supports a finger print sensor.

It is also equipped with the Samsung only features like Samsung pay, S Voice and Secure folder. Such high end features make this phone out of reach of ordinary people.

The phone though has exclusively announced for China and it’s price is yet to be announced. Tech experts hope that the launch date will be announced soon and in the later stages, the phone will also be launched in other Asian markets.
